Overview
Dr. Md. Samaun Hasan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Multimedia and Creative Technology at Daffodil International University. With a diverse interdisciplinary background in fine arts, art history, art criticism, archaeology, and machine learning, he works at the intersection of cultural heritage, artistic research, and computational analysis. As an artist, art historian, critic, and academic, he is committed to exploring innovative approaches to the documentation, analysis, and interpretation of archaeological and artistic heritage. His research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence (AI), convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and advanced computer vision techniques to the study and preservation of cultural heritage, with particular emphasis on material culture, architectural ornamentation, visual traditions, and historical monuments. His scholarly interests include CNN-based feature extraction, motif classification, pattern recognition, architectural feature analysis, and historical period identification.
